Spring Style Guide: Breck Edition

❄ 👉 🌷

❄ 👉 🌷

After most of us were either hibernating or stuffing our hair in a ski helmet all winter, the season of change is finally coming!  Spring is nature's time for renewal. The ice starts melting, trees start budding leaves, animals shed their winter coats, and we start cleaning out our closets.

With all of mother nature's changes, it's also a great time for renewing your style for the new season! We put together three new fresh, fun looks for the Spring season, using the latest trends in hair color and hip new clothing from our friends at Beloved Boutique.

Maizie

Maizie: fresh, textured bob with a bang “shine line”

Maizie is rocking a fun, fresh, textured bob for the Spring.  The first thing you'll notice is her beautiful bangs. Pops of bright colors are a great way to freshen up your look (orange isn't just for Fall anymore). We added a bang "shine line" in a bright, sunny peach color that just screams, "Spring!" A shine line is a kind of horizontal color, which creates reflections of light.  Traditional highlights use a vertical color, following the hair strand from top to bottom, which can look streaky. These splashes of horizontal color are the future of hair coloring. They brighten up your look so much, it's almost like having your own personal sunshine!

Kara

Kara's hair is pulled back in a loose and natural up-do in a rich brown color, with warmer rose gold and peach accents.  Ashy blonde is out and warm highlights are in! We created the rich color tone using Balayage and Ombre techniques, also influenced by horizontal color. We focused on a gradual light change with shaded roots and brighter ends. The warm coloring flatters Kara's face, rather than washing it out, like a bright blonde might do.

Gabby

Gabby's luxurious hair is styled in a long, blunt half-updo with a beautiful, yet casual braid.  Blunt styles are on the rise, after the shaggy-cut styles of last year. We added some playful bright pink and red accents, that just peek through when her darker, textured hair moves.  All of these looks, including Gabby's, are low-maintenance because the root colors match the model's natural color. We placed the accents only through the middle and ends of the hair. This is perfect for the mountain-friendly, low-maintenance style of Breckenridge, where we may not go to the salon every month.
