After working at Chopping Block for two years, Melanie purchased the salon in January 2018.
Melanie has over a decade of experience in hair and beauty starting in Virginia. Her interest in hair, nails and makeup was sparked at age 15, when she decided to take a cosmetology class.
After two years of training and three trips to New York City for hair and fashion education, she launched her career in 2005. Melanie has since nourished her talents through hands-on workshops at Wella Studios in cities like New York City, Chicago, and Toronto.
After specialty curl training and 5 years of practice, Melanie has a reputation for teaching curls to play nice, and has shared her curl-love with the team for clients to enjoy tailored curl cutting and styling techniques with all our stylists.
You’ll find Melanie mentoring stylists in the salon and caring for her own clients when she is not searching for inspiration in different countries across the world.
