Wedding Hair Trends for 2018

Maybe your engagement was short and sweet, or maybe it was a long time coming, but it's finally time to marry your true love!  We know wedding days are one of the most important days in anyone's life. The memories you make (and the photos you take!) will last a lifetime.  That's why it's important to get the details right. With a million things to plan (finding your dress, picking out flowers, writing your vows, sending invitations, sampling cake and figuring out how to deal with your crazy Aunt Shirley), your hairstyle shouldn't be something else you need to be stressed about!  Luckily, the trends for 2018 in wedding hairstyles are all about embracing your natural beauty for a no-fuss, yet wildly romantic look. Here are a few versions of this look, to give you some ideas of how your natural look can complement your beautiful dress:

1. Low Chignon

Updos and low buns this year have loose texture and a #natural style, often accented with braids and twists for an ethereal, fairytale look.  If you have natural roots or highlights, this style can often emphasize your color. An #updo is a classic style that looks beautiful with every dress neckline and cut.  To add a little glamour, try accenting with hair pins, combs or simple flowers.

2. Ponytails

The classic #ponytail has made a comeback, with this year's emphasis on no-fuss, easy styles.  It looks quite beautiful slicked back or with some natural volume added in. This is a style that won't need any maintenance as you transition from ceremony to reception to dancing the night away.  Add a simple ribbon for a sweet style.

3.  Long side braids

A loose, side braid, cascading over your shoulder can be especially stunning with a strapless dress. Accent this style with delicate hair jewelry or a sprinkle of tiny flowers.

4.  Half Up

The half updo gives you the best of both worlds:  long, flowing locks for some natural glamour, but a style that is practical and stays out of your face!  Similar to the updo trend, try a loose texture, accented with braids and twists. Simple knots are another beautiful way to add style to a half updo.

5. Loose Waves and Natural Curls

The natural theme of this year's wedding hair trends wouldn't be complete without some long, natural flowing locks!  Loose waves give a romantic, windswept-on-the-beach look and looks especially beautiful under a veil. It's super simple, but complements slim dress styles and low back and strapless looks best. If you have #curlyhair, rock it au naturel, because who doesn't want to feel like themselves on their wedding day?
